The works consist of implementing mixed gauge (1,435 mm and 1,668 mm) at the Can Tunis terminal, including the track equipment necessary for correct operation, as well as the dismantling of equipment that is not necessary.

Main features of the project:

  • Installation of the third rail on Track II of the Castellbisbal branch.
  • Connection of Track II of the Castellbisbal branch with the Calle 4 track.
  • Implementation of mixed gauge on tracks No. 18-20-22, obtaining a Useful Track Length (USL) of at least 750m.
  • Implementation of mixed gauge on tracks Nos. 46-48-50, obtaining a Useful Track Length (USL) of at least 550 m.
  • Electrification of tracks 32-34-36 to reduce the impact on the operation during the execution of the works.
  • Implementation of mixed gauge on Track II, including the necessary apparatus.
